What are people using for RS232/com port work in EX6? Latest record release of the old TurboPower AsyncPro suite appears to be Nov 2008, and I found the RC1 build ( Mar 2010) at but that still leaves it pretty far back, And most recent reference to installing it appears to be for XE: So what are folks using/recommending for EX6? It is a shame the V 5 update stalled with so few components converted for unicode. I recently upgraded from XE2 to XE6 and first tried the 5.x version.
Delphi Xe5 Serial Communication Protocols. Serial Port in Delphi 7 with ComPort do not send the data fully. List of third party tools and components for.

I was successful in following the instructions with a few tweaks. But I really wanted to use the Packet component which was not updated. I tried to update it myself and add it to the package.
But I failed, probably due to my incompetence. I then tried V 4.07 from the SongBeamer site. Again, I managed to make it install but I had to fix a number of things in the source that raised compiler errors. I also ended up with the source and dcu files in the same folder which showered warnings on every build of my apps until I moved the dcu files into a separate library folder.
Oh how I wish I could dispense with serial comms! Sadly there is still a lot of old hardware, and even some new, that is based on that ancient, if reliable, transport.:(.
